t’s been described like riding the freshest Japanese powder on a bluebird day, or a hot knife through butter â€?a foiling experience like no other. The evolution of the Mid Aspect front foil takes your flow to the next level by combining ultra forgiving pitch stability, an incredibly broad speed range, and seamless rail to rail carving. Whether it’s winging or surfing, the MA Mk II is the dream carving machine.

There’s nothing better than feeling connected to the foil, which is why we’ve designed the MA foils to deliver a seamless and intuitive ride no matter what foil sport you’re pursuing. Thanks to its high camber foil section, these foils deliver a unique blend of lift at low speeds yet retain excellent controllability at the top end. This makes getting up on foil easier while reducing the chances of being “over foiled” in big conditions. From breaching a wingtip in the surf to landing an air, the MA foils handle ventilation with ease. A fine leading edge section and tuned wingtip inflection allow for quick flow reattachment after a breach, making these foils the perfect platform for practising aerials or ripping the hardest turns of your foiling journey.

You know foiling has progressed to a pretty neat place when we’re faced with the luxury of choice. With the introduction of our new MA Mk II front foils, we’re offering an alternative flavor to the HA’s and a more versatile and user-friendly foil compared to the first generation MA. In our quiver bag, we’re carrying both an HA and MA Mk II. Stuck deciding which size to get and why? Have a read below.

Rock solid stability.

The MA Mk II gives you total control for winging and surf foiling progression. For intermediates, the MA Mk II is more forgiving than the HA with its rock-solid stability and consistent lift that will boost your confidence and ability to tackle powered conditions. Advanced riders benefit from how stable the MA Mk II is when landing maneuvers or pushing hard in critical conditions.

Foil Section

An amazing speed range.

This foil section has evolved to deliver a greatly lowered takeoff speed on par with the HA while maintaining a top speed capability similar to the first generation MA, all while recovering instantly from breaches. This makes the MA Mk II ready for everything from winging to prone and tow surfing.

Narrow Span

Seamless roll feel.

The narrower span of the mid aspect outline gives the MA Mk II a quick, seamless roll rate and super fluid carving feel. All sizes are 8.0 AR oriented at carving at higher speeds with increased pump and glide that’s perfect for surfing and a dream when carving.

Construction

Performance and durability.

Foils experience extreme torsional and bending loads, which is why we’ve crafted the MA Mk II from premium pre-preg Toray high modulus carbon fiber. It results in an ultra-strong, stiff, and lightweight foil that performs exceptionally.

Technology

The A+ System is our proprietary foil assembly design that joins the mast, fuselage, front foil and stabilizer together for a solid and smooth feeling on the water. The Alloy System brings the same strength, durability, and efficiency to aluminium.

Coming from HA

If you’ve already got an HA, you might consider adding in an MA Mk II for a different vibe based more around carving. Not factoring in stabilizers and other components, your weight, or conditions, here is a general rule of thumb to land you on an MA Mk II size:

If you’re looking for the same bottom end, stall speed, and comfort as your HA but increase maneuverability and pitch stability, go up one size in the MA Mk II. If you’re ok with trading a bit of bottom end and stall speed in order to boost responsiveness and top speed more significantly (like in powered conditions), pick the closest size in the MA Mk II.

Scenario A

You’re happily on an HA880 and are keen to retain that nice low bottom end, stall speed, and comfort but get a boost in the carving and pitch stability department. Your MA Mk II is the 990.

Scenario B

You’ve got that same HA880 but feel ready to take things up a notch with substantially more responsive carving. You’re fine with a slightly higher bottom end, increased stall speed, and reduced comfort. Your MA Mk II is the 890.

Coming from MA (gen 1)

If you’ve been riding a first gen MA, you’ll be stoked to know the MA Mk II has a broader range of usability with a much-improved bottom end, stall speed, and overall comfort. The Mk II retains that incredible carving and great ventilation recovery that made the MA such an awesome foil. Here’s a general rule of thumb to land you on an MA Mk II size:

If you’re looking for the same bottom end, stall speed, and comfort as your MA (g1), go down one size in the MA Mk II. If you’re ok with trading a bit of bottom end and stall speed in order to boost responsiveness and top speed more significantly (like in powered conditions), you can go down two sizes in the MA Mk II.

Scenario A

You’re happily on an MA1000 and are keen to retain similar bottom end, stall speed, and comfort but get a boost in the carving and pitch stability department. Your MA Mk II is the 890.

Scenario B

You’ve got that same MA1000 but feel ready to take things up a notch with substantially more responsive carving. You’re fine with a slightly higher bottom end, increased stall speed, and reduced comfort. Your MA Mk II is the 790
